My frustration with online trust began in 2019, when I lost money to a fraudulent escrow group on Telegram — a harsh lesson in how easily scammers can mimic a "secure" platform.
It came to a head in 2025. I was trying to sell a Google AdSense account worth ₦600,000 to a buyer I had never met. We argued for days about who would go first — would I send the account details before payment, or would he pay before seeing proof? Neither of us could trust the other. The deal fell apart.
That day I decided to build the solution I wished had existed.

I have been buying and reselling refurbished laptops in Nigeria for years. I know firsthand the anxiety of shipping a ₦300,000 laptop to someone in another state without payment, or asking a buyer to pay before they have seen the item. The Nigerian social commerce market is full of honest and dishonest traders who cannot do business because nobody trusts nobody.
SafeHold is my answer to that problem. I built every line of code myself. I registered the business myself. I set up every payment integration and security system. When something goes wrong on this platform, I am the person who fixes it — because this is not just a business to me. It is the tool I needed and could not find.
